An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
